Albert LeRoy Rawson 81, died Dec. 3, 2008 in the Ashton Memorial Living Center.

Bert was born Apr. 23, 1927 at St. Anthony, Idaho the son of Leslie LeRoy and Sarah Elizabeth Wright Rawson. He grew up in the St. Anthony area where he attended his schooling.

During WWII he joined the Army Air force serving in the 101 Airborne division. He has been a active member of the St. Anthony V.F.W. and american legion units.

He married Merie Dorthie Cox on Jan. 28, 1950 at St. Anthony, ID., the marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 28, 1965. Bert worked as a mechanic all of his life. They have lived in Kerns, UT.; Caldwell, ID.; West Yellowstone, MT.; and for the past 30 years have lived in the St. Anthony area. Bert served as a coach for the Little League Baseball and was a cub scout leader.

He is survived by his wife Merie of Twin Groves, children - Delbert Rawson, Shelley, ID.; Trenna (Jon) Burrup, Idaho Falls, ID.; Barbara (Duane) DeRosa, and Bryan Rawson both of Twin Groves, ID. siblings - Charles (Pearl) Rawson, Rexburg, ID.; Mary Brabham, Florence Bauer, Lyla Prather, Martha (Vern) Russell, Edward (Daran) Rawson all of St. Anthony, ID.; Richard (Nancy) Rawson, Washington. 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Daughter in Law, one brother and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony third and fourth LDS wards chapel with Bp. Creed Webster, Officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Friday evening from 7 - 8 p.m. and at the Church Saturday one hour prior to the time of services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery where Military Rites will be preformed by the St. Anthony American Legion & V.F.W.
