   Lela I. Hardy Neilson 88, died Dec. 19, 2008 at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg under the loving care of Rexburg Home Health and Hospice.

Lela was born Apr. 12, 1920 at Teton City, Idaho the daughter of James Jensen and Jane Ann Donaldson Jensen. She attended grade school in Teton City and Lyman and graduated from Madison High School.

She married Read Benjamin Hardy on Nov. 15, 1938 in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in St. Anthony and many years in the Chester area. In l999 they moved to Garfield then in 2003 to Rexburg. Mr. Hardy died Dec. 15, 2005. She then married Oscar Grant Neilson on Dec. 29, 2006. They have lived at the Homestead Assisted Living Center.

Lela was a active member of the LDS Church and loved serving in many capacities. She loved being a wife, other, homemaker and keeping a beautiful garden and yard. She enjoyed canning, quilting, and working on her geneology.

Lela is survived by her Husband, Grant Neilson of Rexburg, her daughters, Verlene (Leon) Hansen, Middleton, ID.; Marilyn Moran, N. Stonington, Connecticut, Leann (Bruce) Jones, Shelley, ID. and daughter -in-law Jean Hardy Taylor, Rigby, ID.; Rigby, ID.; 14 grandchildren , 37 Great Grandchildren. Sister-in-law Beth Jensen, Idaho Falls, 6 Step Children and sever Step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rexburg 11 LDS Ward Chapel with Kevin Snell, officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony Friday evening from 6 to 7 and at the Church in Rexburg Saturday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale cemetery.
