   Paul Delos Olson 84, of Salmon, Idaho passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at the Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, ID. surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 24, 1924 in Star Valley, Wyoming to Albert Louis Olson and Helen Mae Crook. He attended schools in Star Valley, Wyo.

He married Anna Beth Gardner on Oct. 31, 1946 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and they were blessed with eight Children, twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-seven great Grandchildren.

He was a farmer first and foremost and always loved the land. He worked for Salmon Valley Cheese and then for thirty-five years he was employed by Champion International Lumber Co.

Delos was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the scouting organization, the sunday school, two Bishoprics and then as a ward clerk for over twenty years.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, and grandchildren with whom he was affectionately known as Grandpa ‘D’. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and after retirement he continued to enjoy fishing with his dear friend Loren Kingsford. He made numerous trips to Alaska to fish and visit family.

He is survived by his eight children, Connie (Keith) Pope of Salmon, ID.; Annette (Frank) Bunce, Mud Lake, ID.; Eileen (Randy) Williams, Meridian, ID.; Patty (Shane) Westfall, Craig, Alaska, Helen (Scott) Stewart, Sugar City, ID.; Darla (Steve) Burt, Rexburg, ID.; Mark (Kim) Olson, Salmon, ID.; and Douglas (Sandy) Olson, Santaquin, UT.; Siblings, Evelyn McCammon, Grace, ID.; Blanch Bowles, West Jordon, UT.; Lynn Olson, Riverton, Wyo.; Vergil Olson, Salmon, ID.; Eva Fluckiger, Afton, Wyo.; Dallas (Shirley) Olson, Salmon, ID.; and sister-in-law, Verla Olson, Logan, UT.; He is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren and Twenty-seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Anna, two brothers Rex and Ralph.

Funeral services will be held Sat. Jan. 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Salmon Stake Center with Bp. Kris Bird, officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Salmon Stake Center and from 9:30 until 10:45 on Saturday prior to the services. Interment will be in the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral Home of St. Anthony.
