  Virginia Mae Doak, 83, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.
Viginia was born June 30, 1926, in Peever, S.D. She was the eldest daughter of Elmer and Lois Ellefson. She attended school in Rapid City, S.D., and graduated from Chiloquin High School in Chiloquin, Ore.
She married Bob Doak on Dec. 10, 1948, in Reno, Nev. They raised four daughters on their ranch at Modoc Point, Ore. In 1968, they moved to Ashton. They later divorced.
She started working as a telephone operator in 1946 for Mountain Bell then later for AT&T, living in Rapid City, S.D., Rock Springs, Wyo., Idaho Falls, Reno, Nev., Boise, and Billings, Mont. After retirement in 1993, she moved back to Ashton to be closer to her family. She was a past president and member of the American Legion in Ashton and volunteered at Ashton Visitors Center.
Virginia is survived by her four daughters, Jinny (Gene) Shirley of Sparks, Nev., Stormy Doak-Wade of Teton, Lawana (Dave) Warnke of Sugar City and Robin (Craig) Fowler of St. Anthony; siblings, Lenora Marsingill of Post Falls and Buzz Ellefson of Rapid City, S.D.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy Jason, Wendy, Kristy, Chyrelle, Denni, Jerrami, Herman, Mandy, DeanNa, Dave Jr. and Eric. She loved them all in addition to her 17 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Denni Dawn Marotz Sharp; and a grandson, Herman Warnke Jr.
The family would like to Thank all of Virginia's friends and Ashton neighbors who have helped her throughout her life but especially through her last trying years.
Memorial services will be at a later date in Rapid City, S.D.
