   Vella Mae Fresh 80, died Jan. 13, 2009 at the Spring Creek Manor in St. Anthony.

Mrs. Fresh was born Nov. 20, 1928 at Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Sidney Eugene Phillips and Stella Robinson. At the age of 5 she was adopted by George and Mattie Turpin of Thomas, Idaho. She grew up and went to school at Rockford and Thomas Idaho graduating from High School.

On Jan. 8, 1947 she married Lamar “Bud” Fresh at San Diego Ca. where he was stationed with the Navy. They lived at Blackfoot, ID.: Kearns, Ut.; Twin Falls, ID.; Pocatello, ID.; Rexburg, ID.; and finally to St. Anthony in l970 where she and her husband owned the Village Bakery and later ran their bakery in Laters and Broulim's Supermarkets. She learned to decorate cakes and helped her husband in the bakery.

She was a member of the LDS Church. She loved her family, flowers, painting and going out fishing and hunting on family outings. Mr. Fresh died in Aug. of 2000. She continued to live at her home in Wilford until her bout with cancer forced her to accept help.

Vella is survived by her children - Terry Lamar (CharlLee) Fresh, Pocatello, ID.; Charles Duane (Kathy) Fresh, McMinnville, OR.; Donald L. Fresh (Special Friend - Marie Worrell), Wilford, ID.; Alan Aulby Fresh, Bend, OR.; one brother Don Mikesell, Moscow, ID.; and one Sister Darlene Hartman, Rathdrum, ID.; 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother and one Grand Daughter.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilford LDS Church with Bishop, Gene Clements, Officiating. Friends may call at the Church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral Home.
