Gayle Hunter Boatman

   Gayle Boatman age 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho died on, November 10, 2010 at her home in Idaho Falls after a brave battle with cancer.

Gayle Boatman was born on January 9, 1931 in Heman, Idaho to Murray & Birdie Marie Hunter. She was one of ten children and grew up in the farming community of Kilgore Idaho. As a young girl she helped on the family farm and with the housework and many of the farming chores. Some happy memories she had were fishing in the creeks in Kilgore, community gatherings, rodeos, travel via sleigh and horse team and braving the winters which were both exciting and difficult. She recounted not having running water or lights, doctors who used to travel around giving injections and the old Kilgore School house consisting of two rooms and one small gym. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and was known for her beautiful gardens and abundant produce. Gayle attended High School in Shelly, Spencer, & then Clark County Community HS in Dubois and graduated in 1949.

She married Robert George Boatman on Nov. 26, 1954 at Arco, Idaho. They made their home in the Spencer area. Mr. Boatman died Dec. 24, 1984. Gayle has made her home in Idaho Falls since that time.

The Murray Hunter family resided in Kilgore, Idaho until all the children were raised. Gayle married Robert George Boatman (deceased) of Spencer, Idaho in October of 1956. She helped run Boatman’s Lodge in Spencer, Idaho and completed cosmetology school later in Idaho Falls, ID.

Gayle is survived by her sisters Lily, Ruth, Joan, Birdie and Zola, one brother, Richard Hunter, two sons, Robert Murray (Linda) of Fargo North Dakota and Jerry R of Idaho Falls, Idaho; six grandchildren, Jenny (Jeff) Beacham (Cleveland Heights, OH), Robin (Devon) Wolfe (Chattanooga, TN), Robert G. Boatman (Logan, UT), Kristyan Boatman (Idaho Falls, ID), Michelle Biladeau ( Chinook, MT) and Rebecca Woolley (Idaho Falls, ID); four great-grandchildren, Callie Beacham, Brooke Wolfe, Claire Wolfe & Anna Beacham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Birdie Marie Hunter, her daughter Tamara Biladeau, her sister Carma and brothers Grover and Edward.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 11:00 at the LDS Lincoln 3rd Ward Chapel located at 2545 Mesa Street, Idaho Falls, ID. with Bp. Berry, Officiating Visitation will take place Sunday evening also at the Church from 6 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in the Spencer, Idaho Cemetery under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral Home.
