   Jerry E. Edgington, 80, of St. Anthony, Idaho passed away on November 7, 2010. 
He was born June 1, 1930 in Tetonia, Idaho the son of Frank and Lurline Edgington..  Jerry found his greatest solace in the Teton Basin, the place of his birth and his final resting place.  He came from very humble beginnings which created in him a deep desire to reach out to and lift his fellowman. 
He met the love of his life, Delores Maxine Elser, in 1950.  They were married October 22, 1952 and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1954.  He served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954.  Jerry and Maxine settled in St. Anthony, Idaho in 1957.
He was dedicated to the value of education, ultimately receiving a Bachelors Degree from Brigham Young University and a Masters Degree from Boston University.  Jerry directed Tri-County Special Services for many years, touching the lives of several hundred special needs students in Fremont, Teton, and Madison Counties.  He instilled his convictions regarding education, service and love of fellowman in the lives of hundreds who sought his counsel and direction.  He was loved and respected by his family and community for his endless service, which he demonstrated professionally, civically, and in faithful church service.  He was known for his engaging style and his sense of humor.  The joy of working with his family was among his many treasures.  This passion  for work was instilled in the lives of his children, grandchildren and many others who associated with him.  His legacy will continue to influence generations. 
He is survived by his wife,  Maxine, St. Anthony ID. and their children
Jerry Roy (Marche) Edgington,  Farmington, UT; Bradley (Stacey) Edgington, Orem, UT; Brent (Marci) Edgington, Provo, UT; Chad (Ann) Edgington, Fruit Heights, UT, Linde (Kent)  Huntsman, Georgetown, TX; Shawn (Kara) Edgington, Provo, UT and 29 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings William J. Edgington and Lee Ann Worthan.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Janice  Sheppard, Joyce Petersen, and Nikki Bedke.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony Stake Center, 247 East 4th North.  A viewing will be held that morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am.  There will be an additional viewing Friday, Nov. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stake Center.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Fremont Education Foundation P.O. Box 263, St. Anthony, ID 83445. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery near Tetonia where militarty rites will be performed.
