LeRoy A. Palmer

   LeRoy A. Palmer 93, died June 10, 2010 at his home in Egin following a lingering illness.

Roy was born Feb. 12, 1917 at Heman, Idaho the son of John Willie and Etna May Wardle Palmer. He grew up and spent his intire life in the Heman - Egin Bench area where he farmed. He attended the Old Heman School as a child.

He married Venice Bagley on Sept. 26, 1940 at Salem, Idaho the marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 15, 1965. Venice passed away on Nov. 22, 1986.

Besides farming, Roy worked for B.M. Tibbitts & Sons for many years. He also served on the Egin Canal Board. He was an a active member of the LDS Church. Roy enjoyed helping his neighbors and firends in whatever work needed to be done.

He married LaRue Galbraith on Oct. 6, 1989 in Rexburg. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Mar. 16, 1991. They have continued to live in the Egin Bench area.

LeRoy is survived by his wife LaRue of Egin, Children - Dean (LuDean) Palmer, Rexburg, Connie (Blaine) Larsen, Hamer, Linda (Tim) Bird, Nampa. Step Son Bruce Wilcox, Washington and Step Daughter Gale Fetzer, Georgia. one brother Lowell (Lucille) Palmer, Egin, 27 Grandchildren, 86 Great Grandchildren and 14 Great Great Grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by daughter Ruby Gardner, Siblings- Zella, Ollie, Robert, Martha, Eugene, Radie, Geneva, Luella, Glenus.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Egin Bench LDS Church with Bishop Brandon Moon Officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again at the Church Monday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery.
