William "Bill" George Wuthrick

  William “Bill” George Wuthrick 84, passed away Dec. 7, 2015 from natural causes. at his daughters home near Rigby

He was born Aug. 19, 1931 at Fort Washakie, Wyoming the son of Fredrick and Ella Whitaker Wuthrick. He went to School at Fort Washakie and Lander, Wyoming, and also in Laurel Montana.

He worked various jobs throughout his life. Bill served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War, he joined at age of 18 and was honorably discharged.

Bill met the love of his life, Marial Grunig, in the Bear Lake Valley. When they were dating, Bill was involved in a mining gasoline explosion which burned 60 % of his body. Bill stayed in the hospital for 4 months. They married June 23, 1954 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Salt Lake City while Bill was still recuperating. As a young married couple, they settled in Montpelier, Id. where they had three children. On June 23, 1967, Bill and Marial’s marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

At one time, NASA recruited him for the space program, but he and Marial decided to raise their family in Idaho. Bill was self-taught in television repair, reading music and playing the guitar. Bill played for several years in a local dance band on his guitar, which he loved. Bill fixed televisions as a side Job. He worked for the Idaho Dep. of Transportation and worked up the ranks until he was promoted to forman which got him transferred to Swan Valley. While in Swan Valley , he helped to form the ambulance service and obtained his EMT. He later furthered his education to Advanced EMT. In l976 he was transferred to Sugar City area which resulted in the family moving to St. Anthony. Bill retired from the State in l993 after 30 years. After retirement he took over the Fremont County Emergency Management, he retired from that position in 2005.

Bill is survived by his children - Janice’ (Brian) Hillyard, Rigby, ID. Jody (Brad) Watson, Rigby, ID.; and William Jr. (Tina) Wuthrick, Idaho Falls, ID.; 19 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and 4 great Great Grandchildren. and one brother Fred Wuthrick in Washington. Besides his wife, Marial he was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John and sisters, Lamania and Edna .

Funeral services will be Conducted Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 in the St. Anthony 4th LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Rod Perkins, officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and at the Church Saturday one hour prior to the services at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Riverview Cemetery.
