Lynda Arminda "Min" Briggs

   Lydia Arminda (Min)Rhodehouse Briggs, 88, passed away July 27, 2011 at her home in Teton, Id. Under the care of Alliance Hospice.
Min Briggs was born March 10, 1923 near St. Anthony to Edward Clifton Rhodehouse and Elinora Gardner. She was the 5th of 7 children. She attended school in St. Anthony, and Menan.
She married George Albert Briggs II on July 21, 1938 and the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple June 16, 1939. They lived in Teton all their lives and raised a family of 7 children. Together with her husband they owned and operated the Teton Flour Mill, as well as their farm. Mr. Briggs died March 3, 2000.
She was instrumental in integrating special needs education into the public school system. For a time she wrote the Teton News for the Standard Journal. She also helped write the Teton History. She will be remembered for her beautiful poetry.
She was active in the LDS Church serving in many positions.
Min is survived by two brothers: Clifton Rhodehouse Menan and Russell Rhodehouse Salt Lake City, and her children: “Bert” George Albert Briggs III (Sandy ) Teton , Roger Briggs (Kathy) Coeur d’Alene, Wynn Briggs (JoLyn) Teton, Dennis Briggs ( Kim) Teton, Sharla DeMott Shelly, Bill Briggs (Julie) Logan. 29 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband She was preceded in death by her son Darrell Briggs, a daughter-in-law Loraine Neble Briggs (Roger), her siblings: Denzyl Rhodehouse, Mary Beesley, Lucille McMinn, Coleen Fisher; and her grandchildren: David Shane Briggs, Marie Briggs, Terry Briggs, and Heath Briggs.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Teton LDS Church with Bp. Craig Carter of the Teton second ward, Officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and at the Teton Church Saturday from 10:00-10:45 just prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
