Dee Young- Bidwell Funeral Home
Dee Cyrus Young

Dee Cyrus Young, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died suddenly of a heart attack on January 11, 2015. While he left our family much too early, he leaves a legacy that will endure long hence his passing.
Dee was born September 24, 1944, to Cy and Vera Young, and was raised on the family farm in Twin Groves, Idaho. It was on the family farm that he learned a solid work ethic that would see him through his professional life. He was a soldier in his early adulthood and served with the 116th Engineer Battalion when he met and married the love of his life, Patricia Banta.
He had a natural talent for building, which was realized in a career of construction, where he built many family homes, commercial businesses, schools, and churches, as well as overseeing the construction of the then Ricks College Football Stadium, which still stands today.
Dee eventually turned his talents and work ethic into a career change when he began working for the Department of Juvenile Corrections, where he started at the bottom and again worked his way to the top of his profession. This was done through hard work, punctuality, and an attention to detail, where he ultimately worked 28 years and retired with a full pension from the State of Idaho.
Dee was a true American at heart and loved the freedom that this great country offered. He often experienced this freedom while riding one of the many different motorcycles he owned over the years, as well as when flying through the desert in the Kit Fox airplane that he built himself. Dee would buy, sell, or trade almost anything and often saw value in things that no one else did. In short, he was a wheeler and dealer.
Together with his wife and family, they built a family home on the banks of the Henrys Fork of the Snake River not far from where he grew up on the family farm. This beautiful creation is a testament to his creative imagination and serves as a home where family and friends gather each year. He was a loving husband, a heroic father, an awesome grandfather, and a true friend to those who loved him. He will be truly missed!
Dee’s family will receive friends at the Bidwell Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 am, followed by a short service at 12:00 noon. The family asks that donations be made to East Idaho Credit Union % Sanddra Briggs
Dee is survived by his wife Patricia of St. Anthony, and four sons; Ryan (Tausha) Young, Jimmy (Angela) Young, Michael (Shantelle) Young, and Matt (Nichelle) Young, his 9 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren.
He is also survived by siblings Wayne (Maxine) Young, Lowell (Larena) Young, Rex (Marla) Young, Sally (Michael) Webster. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews. Condolences may be sent to
