Dorla Rudd Jenkins

   Dorla Rudd Jenkins peacefully passed away in her home July 25, 2014. She lived a life of devotion and service to the Lord Jesus Christ, her family and countless others. She was devoted grandmother and her grandchildren have many wonderful memories of their experiences with her. She was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Dorla was born April 1, 1935 to George Lynn and Lucille Leatham Rudd, of Parker. She attended elementary and high school in Parker and St. Anthony and latter attended Ricks College the Utah State University. She married Laird Oleen Jenkins and was sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, May 18, 1956. They had six children.

Dorla was a professor for 30 years at Ricks College, teaching English, poetry, creative writing and religion courses. She had a tremendous love of learning and also of her pioneer heritage. She traveled and served in many professional capacities and church callings including teaching at the Jerusalem Center. She served an LDS Mission in the Church Educational System in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She is survived by her children, Jerri (Les) Albertson, Stansbury Park, UT.; Laird (Chris) Jenkins, Las Vegas, NV.; Julie (Mike) Miller, Parker and Marta (Val) Hammond, Parker ID.; also her sisters Lynda (Boyd) Hollist, Parker, ID.; and Cheryl (Phil) Rumsey, Virginia, ID.; She leaves a wonderful legacy of 22 Grandchildren and 42 Great
Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Laird, and two children, Stephen and Shanna.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony, ID. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parker LDS Chapel with Bp. Chris Stephens, Officiating with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Parker Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to dear friends as well at all those who gave loving care. Donation on her behalf can be made to the BYU - Idaho Scholarship fund.
