O. Dwight Rowe


   O. Dwight Rowe 62, passed away Aug. 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones following his battle with cancer. A kind and loving father, grandfather, husband, and friend, he will be missed by all those who loved him.

Dwight was born Oct. 18, 1950 in Rexburg, ID.; the son of George Russell and Winifred Stevens Rowe. He grew up in the Sugar City area where he attended both elementary and high school. He later earned his high school equivalency in l999.

In l970 he joined the U.S. Army where he served as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam conflict.

In Oct. of 1973 he married Carole Haueter, together they had four sons and later divorced. He married Sherri Russell on Aug. 1, 1980 in Teton, ID.; On Aug. 1, 2013 they were sealed in the Rexburg LDS Temple for time and eternity. Making their home in the Teton Area, together they raised 3 sons. Dwight loved the outdoors and spending time with his wife and boys, hunting, fishing, camping, and four wheeling. He had a passion for old cars, especially muscle cars, and their restoration. He also loved collecting old coins.

Dwight worked at Walter’s Ready Mix and Basic American Foods before starting his own successful masonry business, “Masonry and Such”, in 2000. He was self-taught tile setter and a seasoned mason and took great pride in everything he did. He was highly motivated person who had the capacity to do anything well once he set his mind to it.

He is survived by his wife Sherri, Sons, Michael, Murray, UT.; Bill (Nancy) - Millcreek, Ut.; James (Kirsten) - Herriman, UT.; Jeff (Heidi) - Sandy, UT.; Laremy (Kristen) - Clinton, UT.; Derek (Shana) and Talen - both of Idaho Falls, ID.; Brothers/sisters Bonnie (Neil) Zundel, Edwin (Judy) Rowe, Brenda (Ron) Devenish, Cheryl (Gary) Beckstead, Karla (Jim) Tuberville, Pam (Dave) Cram, and neil and his gifts of joy, 17 Grandchildren, Noelle, Sarah, Joey, Elliott, Harper, Nathan, Lexi, Mathew, Destiny, Dillon, Jensen, Isabelle, Abigail, Aiden, Trinity, Treyson, and Tavin. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Teton LDS Church with Bishop Craig Carter, Officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery where military rites will be preformed.
