 Edland “Eddie” Dean Clark 86, passed away early Saturday morning Aug. 18, 2012 of natural causes in the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Ut.

Eddie was born June 27, 1926 in Benson, Utah the son of Elmer Dean and Myrtle Molyneux Clark. He was the last child born joined four sisters, Myrdean, Lela, Elina and Donna and one brother Wesley.

Eddie was raised in Idaho and worked on the family farm at a early age and later in the family furniture store.

He worked in California building wing tips for bombers before being drafted near the end of W.W.II. Eddie fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was wounded by shrapnel. He was whisked away from the enemy lines but waited three days for his first medical treatment. He was one of few to survive but not without significant damage to his leg, which earned him a Purple Heart for his service.

After the war Eddie served a LDS mission along the Gulf Coast. He married Donna Hilliam and they had nine children and were later divorced. He later married LaRae Bunnell the they lived in Plain City, UT. Eddie served as the West Yellowstone Branch Bishop and spent a lot of time in the Park conducting services for Visitors. He served with Max Mortensen in the Yellowstone Stake Presidency. Eddie spent his career as a insurance broker and financial planner, specializing in helping teachers save and prepare for retirement.

Edland is survived by LaRae Bunnell Clark, of Utah; six children David , Lynn, Lisa, Sue, Craig and MariAnn, 25 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren.

Bedsides his parents he was preceded in death by three children, Charles in 2007, Steve in 2010, and Linda in 2011 as well as Birdena Wyman his wife in 2000. all of his siblings .

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at 10:00 a. m. in the St. Anthony Idaho Stake center with Bishop Dorstan Orme, officiating. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery where military rites will be preformed by the St. Anthony V.F.W. and American.
