Elva S. Crain

   Elva Schwendiman Crain 83, passed away Dec. 24, 2011 in the Madison Memorial Hospital.

Elva was born Mar. 10, 1928 at Newdale, Idaho the daughter of Norval and Artella Ward Schwendiman. She grew up in Newdale and attended Newdale and Sugar Salem High School where she graduated.

She married Dean “Foozy” Crain on Oct. 28, 1946 in Dillon Montana. They made their home in Wilford until the Teton Dam disaster in l976. They then made their home on the South Side of the Teton river between Teton and Newdale. Mr. Crain died June 25, 2004.

Elva is survived by her children Jeanne (Hal) Ricks, Gary (Cheryl) Crain, Ray (Darla) Crain, all of Teton, ID.; Judy (Kent) Mathie, Egin, ID; Bonnie (Kem) Palmer, St. Anthony, ID.; Brenda (Randy) Jorgensen, Tetonia, ID.; and Dena (Brett) Jeppesen, Rexburg, ID.; Siblings, Dorma Nelson, Teton, ID.; Velma Calaway, Salem, ID.; Ludean Crain, British Columbia, Canada, Maureen Scott, Menan, ID.; Lynn Schwendiman, St. Anthony, ID.; in-laws, Fern Bishoff, Sugar City, ID.; Dean and Vena Gardner, Quincy, WA.; Guy Crain, British Columbia, Canada,; Laura Crain, Teton City, ID.; 34 Grandchildren, 57 Great Grandchildren. Besides her husband, and parents she was preceded in death by a Granddaughter Kelsie Palmer Munns and one sister Rea Pincock.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Teton first LDS Ward with Bp. Craig Carter, officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 and at the Teton Church Thursday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
