   Grant Davis 84, a lifelong resident of the Wilford area died Sept. 8, 2011at his home in Wilford.

Grant was born Sept. 7, 1927 in Wilford, Idaho the son of George Ruben and Anna Hortence Smith Davis. He grew up in Wilford where he attended school graduating from Sugar Salem High School. Grant served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1950 and was honorably discharged in l956.

He married Thelma Ray Parker on July 25, 1954 in St. Anthony. They made their home in Wilford and other places. Thelma passed away March 21, 2005.

Grant worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for the U.S. Forrest Service. He was a true cowboy and enjoyed raising horses, ranching and farming until the day he died.

He is survived by his children - Carol (Andres) Aguila, Kearns UT; Connie (Lyle) Gardner, Teton, ID; Lois Davis,Wilford, ID; Robert (Ruby) Davis, Branson, MO; Cookie (Carlos) Watts, Rigby, ID; Jo Dee Davis, Rexburg, ID; William (Marcie) Davis, Wilford, ID; 26 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by Siblings - Bob (Connie) Davis, Egin, ID, Paul (Karen) Davis, Boise, ID.; and Florence (Skip) Stevenson, Sugar House, UT.Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by siblings - Ross, Emery, Ruby, Polly Madge, & Glenn.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilford LDS Church with Bishop Rod Dalling, Officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at the Wilford Church from 10:00 a.m. until 10;45 just prior to the services. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery where military rites will be preformed.
