   Helen Allen Johnson 84, passed away, Nov. 27, 2011 in the Ashton Living Center
She was born in Teton City, Idaho on December 29, 1926 to Thomas Walter and Mary Isabell Owens.
She grew up in Teton City. She attended school at Teton Elementary and Madison and South Fremont High School.
She married Ted James Allen in St. Anthony on September 3, 1945. Ted passed away on April 23, 1988.
She married Joy S. Johnson on January 19, 1991 and they have continued to reside in St. Anthony, Idaho.
Helen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has held many positions in the Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. She and Joy served a family history mission to the Little Rock Arkansas Mission from 1997 to 1998. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
When Helen’s children were young she worked in the potato harvest in the fall and cutting seed potatoes in the spring. She taught her children the meaning of hard work and gave them a good work ethic. When her children were older she started work for the Fremont County Sheriff’s office and worked there 18 years.
She is survived by her husband, Joy, daughter Sheila (Terry) Tibbitts of Blackfoot and sons Donald (Kathy) Allen of Shelley and Rex Allen of Coeur d Alane. She has four step children that she loved as her own. They are Larry (Vickie) Johnson of St. Anthony, Toni Shepard of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Frankie (Russ) Skeen of Twin Falls and Connie (Mike) Lyons of Kaysville, Utah. Four brothers: Victor (Wilma) Owens of Idaho Falls, Gary (Carol) Owens of Teton City, Jack (Pat) Owens of Wenatchee, WA and Rick (Linda) Owens of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ted, and son Ted James Allen Jr. (Jim) and two step-grandsons Levi and Daniel Johnson. Helen has 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren and 3 step-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Twin Groves LDS Ward with Bishop Creed Webster, Officiating. The family will greet friends and family on Wednesday, November 30th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Bidwell Funeral Home. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery. Family suggest donations be made to the LDS Church perpetual education fund.
