Julie Brown Phillips

   Julie Brown Phillips 55, of Salem, ID, returned to her Heavenly Father on Aug. 30, 2014. She passed away with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer.

Julie was born Dec. 7, 1958 in San Jose, CA the daughter of Jerrold Steele Brown and Terry Welch Brown. She spent the early years of her life in Sunnyvale and Cupertino, CA graduating from Cupertino High School in l977. She then moved to Rexburg, ID, to attend Ricks College. While at Ricks she met Kenneth Lee Phillips, Jr. They were married on June 2, 1978 in the Oakland, California LDS Temple. They lived in Salem, ID for a short time before moving to Logan, UT. They returned to Salem about a year later to settle down and raise their six wonderful children. Julie attended and graduated from Career Beauty College in 2001. She loved doing hair and nails and working in the Salon.

Julie loved to scrapbook, crochet, knit, cook, and go on road trips with her sweetheart on their road bike. She also loved sewing, her beautiful quilts warmed the bodies and spirits of anyone that was touched by them. Julie spent her life loving and caring for her children and grandchildren and serving others. She was often surrounded by her children and grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She was much loved by her family and all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.

Julie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings. She loved attending and helping in the temple, especially the one in Rexburg.

Julie is survived by her husband Ken Phillips, Salem, ID, six children- Nate (Angie) Phillips, Oceanside, CA, Michelle (John) Francis, Las Vegas, NV, Jerry (Karen) Phillips, St. Anthony, ID, Curt (Brenda) Phillips, and Ray (Paige) Phillips both of Kemmerer WY,
Trina Phillips, Las Vegas. NV, and 9 grandchildren; Alizabeth, Nathan, Abigail, Sean, Luke, Braylie, Kaybree, Daxton and Ryker. Her parents of St. George Ut, and siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salem 3rd ward LDS Building with Bishop Steve Mortensen, Officiating. Friends may call at the Church Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and again Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 just prior to the services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral Home.
