Mabel Lois Stalker

  Mabel L. Stalker 97, passed away Monday Sept. 23, 2013 at her home in Newdale.
Mabel was born May 17, 1916 in Ashton Idaho the daughter of Clyde and Ida Williams.
She was married to Max Kendall Stalker on Oct. 12, 1935 in Idaho Falls. They lived in Felt for 3 years. In l938 they moved to Ashton. They moved to Newdale in l947 where they have since resided. Mr. Stalker passed away Mar. 7, 1986.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held various callings in Young Womans and Relief Society. She was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also volunteered for Hospice where she received the “Hospice of the Year” award in April of 2004 at the age of 88. She enjoyed scrap booking, quilting, and she is known for keeping a good record or funeral book for the people of Newdale.
She is survived by two sons Gary (Barbara) Stalker, American Falls and Floyd “Skip” (Alice) Stalker, Roy, Ut. Two daughters Mrs. Philip (Rowena) Lauritzen, Camas, Washington, and Mrs. Wayne (Susan) Egbert, Sandy Ut. A Sibling Glenda Hill. Eighteen Grandchildren, Sixty One Great Grandchildren, and fifteen Great Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Floyd Williams, two sisters Mildred Featherston, Juanita Cooley, and a grandson Franklyn Max Stalker.
Mabel was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. She was kind to everyone she met and she had a great love for life. She loved watching the Utah Jazz with Shirleen and Dean Schwendiman. A big thanks to Hospice Angels who took such tender care of our Mom.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newdale LDS Church with Bp. Jason Grover, Officiating. Friends may call at the Church Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm and again Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.just prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home.
