  RaNae Fenton Snook, 73 passed away Sunday Apr. 22, 2012 at her home in St. Anthony following a short but strong fight with cancer, with her husband of 52 years at her side.

Mom was born July 31, 1938 in Wilford, Idaho to Russell Windley and Mary Elizabeth Thomson Fenton. She moved to St. Anthony with her family when she was young and attended school there, graduating from South Fremont High and then attended Ricks College where she got her Teaching certificate.

Mom then started working on her Bachelor’s degree through BYU-Provo through correspondence, graduating in Provo in l974. She dedicated many years to teaching. Her longest time at Parker Elementary, cherishing every student and often sharing fond memories of former students with others.

After she retired from teaching, Mom began a second career with Health and Welfare, first with the State of Nevada then the State of Idaho where she retired with the Rexburg office in 2005.

April 11, 1960 she married Walter Allen “Bud” Snook at her parents home in St. Anthony. She stayed in St. Anthony while Bud was in the Army and after he returned they began their adventures, heading to California then returning to Idaho where they raised their three children in the “House on the highway”.

She enjoyed spending time on the farm in Wilford, helping with the potatoes, sketching and spending as much time with her family and friends as possible.

She was a member of the LDS Church and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She is survived by her husband Walt, children, Michael (Pam) Snook, Teton, ID.; Michelle (Roy) Robertson, and Margo (Travis) Moyes both of St. Anthony, ID; grandchildren, Jake, Justin, Jessica, Amanda, Jesse, Devin, Meghan and Samantha as well as 4 great grandchildren. Siblings, Marlyn Tonks, St. Anthony, Beverly Ellsworth, Firth, ID.; and Rosalind Gorton, Teton, ID.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one great grandchild Aseneth Snook.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bidwell Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
