Ray George Mackert

   Ray George Mackert, 82, returned to his ranch and fishing pond in heaven on October 17, 2015 at his home in St. Anthony.
He was born January 2, 1933 to George Albert Mackert and LaMona Decima Burrell Mackert, In St. Anthony. He attended school in St. Anthony.
On June 30, 1958, he married Lorna Carlton in St. Anthony. On April 23, 1993 their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Fall temple.
He worked for the Youth Service Center in St. Anthony for 29 years. He was a successful cattleman and farmer until poor health forced him to retire. As a hobby, he enjoyed wood working. He built beautiful cedar chests for each of his granddaughters for their 16th birthdays, not to mention many other wood projects. His greatest achievement was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years and sons: Brett Ray (Carrie Dawn) Mackert: and Kirk Carlton (Lori) Mackert. Grandchildren: Shad Mackert, Jirell Womack, Dana Mackert,(Nate Froehlich) Brynn (James) McCurry, Keisha (Wyatt) Angell, TeNeal (Dakota) Elliott, Hilary Mackert and Justin Mackert. Great grandchildren: Caidence Womack, Kambree Mackert, Bryson Froehlich, Ryder McCurry and Harper Elliott. Sisters: Joan Mackert and Dorothy Lenz
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Marie Lenz and Henry Mackert.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Wilford Church with a viewing Friday evening at Wilford Church from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and 10:00 am Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Riverside Cemetery.
