Ricky Glen Floyd

   Ricky Glen Floyd 51, passed away Nov. 2, 2015 , from an apparent heart attack.

Rick was born Feb. 28, 1964 in Ogden, Utah to Glen C. Floyd and Dorothy Layland Jorgensen. He was raised in Pocatello, Idaho; Huntington, Oregon; and Chester, Idaho.

After graduating from South Fremont High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force in l983 serving until l987 with the U.S. Presidential Honor Guard. After his military service, he lived and worked in California and Oregon before returning to Idaho in l991. He worked for several years as an over-the-road truck driver and helped his father on the farm.

He played football and basketball in high school and was a hunting, camping and NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed playing video games. He loved all animals, especially dogs. He had a giving spirt and supported St. Jude’s Hospital and various animal humane societies. He loved his family, spending as much time as possible with them.

He is survived by his siblings, Ronald Floyd, Boise, Idaho, Mark Floyd, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Michelle (Vard) Robertson, Rexburg, Idaho, and step-sister Joy (Joe) Hill of North Carolina. He is also survived by his step-mother Marlene Floyd, St. Anthony, Idaho and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Delbert Floyd, and nephew, Dakota Hall.

Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Evergreen LDS Church (700 Park Street) in Rexburg Idaho with Bishop Alan Dutson officiating. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. where military rites will be performed by the St. Anthony V.F.W. and American Legion posts.
