Dancing was something she loved and often talked about going to dances with her brothers. On Oct. 15, 1936 she married Blaine “Bill” Stoddard. They spent their first winter in Kilgore feeding cattle. She spoke of a line tied between the house and the chicken coop so she could get back to the house in the winter snow. The next five years were spent in California. In l942 they moved back to Egin. Bill and Velma enjoyed dancing, square dancing and bowling.

Velma worked at “Tibbitts” Warehouse for 30 years. She also helped on the family farm and with the milk cows when the need arose. Bill died in l985. She married LaMont Hall on Oct. 26, 1990. Velma was warmly welcomed into the family by Lamont’s son and daughters. They lived in Burton and spent winters in St. George. LaMont died in 2001.
