Vivian Grover Beddes

Vivian Grover Beddes, 85, passed away April 31, 2015 in the Homestead Assisted Living Center in St. Anthony, Idaho from natural causes.

Vivian was born July 28, 1929 in Parker, Idaho, the daughter of George Albert and Myrlin Jackson Grover. She grew up in Parker where she attended elementary school and later graduated from South Fremont High School.

She married David LeRoy Beddes on July 15, 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To their union were born 5 children. They lived in Parker, Idaho then moved to Wilford in 1959 where they resided until Roy passed away in September 2013.

In her younger years, Vivian was crowned the Rexburg Whoopee Days Queen and enjoyed horses throughout her life. She and her husband, Roy, also owned a championship dog-sled team for many years. They started Beddes Farm Center together and ran it for over 30 years, serving the farming community in Eastern Idaho and the surrounding states. She loved the outdoors and traveling. Roy only had to call her and say he was going somewhere to deliver equipment and she would “beat him to the pickup”. She was a wonderful companion to Roy, and an excellent, wise mother.

Vivian was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many positions including the Parker and Wilford Ward Relief Societies, Young Women and Primary organizations. She was also a counselor in the St. Anthony Idaho Stake Relief Society presidency. She and Roy were officiators in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for many years. She was a talented musician and played the piano and organ for church and many, many funerals. She was a truly gifted seamstress, making many quilts, dresses and formals. She loved to read.

Vivian is survived by her children – Bonnie (Stephen) Meyers, Rexburg, ID; Connie (Ted) Austin, David (Barbara) Beddes and Sally (Rodnie) Nichols all of St. Anthony, ID and Amy (Justin) Robinson, Kuna, ID. She is also survived by a sister, Wilma (Ronald) Brown, Idaho Falls, ID plus her dear in-laws, Betty Grover, St. Anthony, ID; Shirley and Kay Luthy, Ririe, ID; Kenny and Anne Beddes, Rigby, ID and Vernon and Barbara Carlson, Shelley, ID. She has 26 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Roy, Vivian was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred Clyde Grover and Reed Clark Grover, a grandson, Andrew Ward Austin and 2 great grandchildren.
