  Wendell J. Brinkerhoff 84, Passed away Nov. 7, 2011 in the Rexburg Care Center from causes incidents to age.

Wendell was born Sept. 27, 1927 at Huntington, Utah the son of James Byron and Bessie Hazel Miller Brinkerhoff. He grew up mainly in St. Anthony where he graduated from high school.

During WW 11 he served in the U.S. Navy serving in the Philippines.

He married Colleen LaRue Douglass on May 23, 1948 in St. Anthony. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Feb. 7, 1951. Colleen passed away Feb. 18, 1998.

He was a life long member of the St. Anthony Second Ward. He was active in the Scouting Program and received the Silver Beaver Award in l991. He coached church athletic teams, Served as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple and was counselor in the Bishopric to Grant Chandler. He helped construct the Harry Worrell Park, served on the Library Board and board of directors for the St. Anthony Senior Citizens. He also served as quartermaster for the St. Anthony V.F.W. post 9425

Wendell is survived by his children - Sherri Brinkerhoff, St. Anthony, ID.; Toni (Kirk) Quirl, Teton City, ID.; Douglass (Cathy) Brinkerhoff, and Todd (Tina) Brinkerhoff, both of Moscow, ID.; and Jeff Brinkerhoff, Blackfoot, ID. Two Brothers Lorin Brinkerhoff, South Jordan, UT.; and Ralph Brinkerhoff, Richland, WA. 12 Grandchildren 10 Great Grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother Melvin.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Nov, 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony Second LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Brent Thompson, Officiating. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and at the Church Saturday from 9:00 until the time of services. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Riverview Cemetery where military rites will be performed by the St. Anthony V.F.W. and American Legion. The family suggest instead of flowers take your family out to dinner.
